Kathu’s 100 MW solar power plant achieved its first synchronization to the network last October. MMYPEM was the company responsible for the assembly of steam turbines, generator and auxiliary equipment. He also performed the oil flushing of lube oil, as well as the pre-alignment and final alignment.

The plant is being tested prior the stage of full commercial operation, and the turbines are in stable operation.

The solar thermal power plant of the Kathu Solar Park, already in operation, is equipped with a molten salt storage system that will allow the plant to keep producing electricity for 4.5 hours in a row in the absence of solar radiation, and will secure the available power generation to satisfy the demanding needs.
