At the beginning of July 2019, the works at the Curtis-Teixeiro biomass plant started .
MMYPEM carried out the mechanical works of the different systems of the plant, BOP, boiler, turbine and auxiliary systems, as well as the support during the chemical cleaning and blowing phases.
MMYPEM is currently carrying out the work during the scheduled shutdown at the Curtis biomass plant. The works are expected to be finished by next week.
This will bring to an end our works at the biomass plant, following the completion of the start-up in December 2020. This plant is the second largest biomass plant in Spain and the first in technological innovation. It has an installed capacity of 50 megawatts and has the capacity to process, at full capacity, half a million tonnes of certified forest biomass. To supply the plant, Greenalia has acquired 30 balers for the collection of forest residues which, once prepared and converted into bales, are transported to Curtis in one of the 80 lorries that enter the site every day.
