Constructor Atacama CSP Chile has selected MMYPEM to carry out the mechanical works during the commissioning of Cerro Dominador Solar Power Plant, located in the commune of Maria Elena, in the Antofagasta Region of Chile, an area that presents one of the highest solar radiation rates in the world.

The works entrusted to MMYPEM will consist of the preparation of all the plant systems for its commissioning, the support during the chemical cleaning and blowing, the start-up of systems and the subsequent performance tests until delivery of the plant to the customer.

Cerro Dominador solar complex consists of a photovoltaic plant (now under commercial operation phase) with a capacity of 100 MW and a solar thermal power plant with a capacity of 110 MW. The solar field has 10,600 heliostats placed in a circle that will direct the solar radiation to a receiver installed on a tower 250 meters high.

The solar thermal power plant, equipped with a 17.5 hour thermal storage system, will generate clean energy 24 hours a day. Once the project becomes operational, it will offset 870,000 tonnes (t) of CO2 emissions a year.
