General Electric (GE) has relied on MMYPEM to commissioning at the Plot B the Ashalim Solar Thermal Power Station in Israel’s Negev desert. GE is responsible for the engineering, the procurement and the construction (EPC) of the solar power station, with MMYPEM providing to commissioning.

PROJECT INFLUENCE

When operational, the Ashalim Solar Thermal Power Station will help Israel achieve its goal of having 10 percent of its electricity production from renewable energy sources by 2020.

A 121 megawatt solar complex using mirrors to focus the power of the sun on solar receivers atop power towers.

The electricity generated at Ashalim will be enough to supply 120,000 homes with clean energy.

The complex will avoid 110,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year over the course of its life.

This project will create up to 1,000 jobs at peak construction.
