The UTE Imasa-ACCIONA has awarded MMYPEM the contract for the turbogroup assembly of the biomass plant promoted by Forestalia in Cubillos del Sil.
The new biomass plant occupies an area of about 100,000 m² in the industrial site El Bayo, located in Cubillos del Sil (León). It will have an installed capacity of 49.9 megawatts (MW) and generate 290 GWh per year using approximately 280,000 annual tons of agroforestry biomass.
Works performed by MMYPEM will mark an important milestone in the construction of the plant, which with the reception of the turbogroup will enter the final phase of the assembly, and advance towards the testing phase prior to final commissioning.
It is foreseen that Cubillos del Sil biomass plant starts generating electricity early in 2020.
