In 2004 and 2005, ENDESA relied on MMYPEM for the commissioning part of the last three groups of the Las Salinas thermal power station, located in Puerto del Rosario, capital of the island of Fuerteventura.
This thermal power plant consists of three gas turbines, one of which is mobile, as well as nine diesel groups. The first gas turbine, with a power of 25.86 MW, was connected to the grid in 1992. In 2000 the second gas turbine, with 37.5 MW of power, went into production. The mobile group was put into service in 1987. Its power is 15 MW. All these groups use diesel as fuel.
The first two diesel groups, with 4.32 MW of power each, began operating in 1975 and 1976, respectively. In 1980 a group of 5.04 MW was put into operation. In 1981 another two diesel groups of 7.52 MW each went into production. In 1990, a group of 24 MW was incorporated into the generation plant of the plant. In 2004, a group of 18 MW was put into operation. The last incorporation of diesel groups occurred in 2005 with the entry into operation of two groups of 18 MW each. Diesel groups use low sulfur and diesel as fuel.
The plant has the ISO 14001 environmental management certificate granted by AENOR and that its activities are carried out in an environmentally friendly manner.
